What I have learnt about Matariki

Hello fellow readers and in this blog post I'm telling you what I've learnt about Matariki.

Firstly I will tell you how to find Matariki. To do this it has to be the Maori new years from June to July. You want to find the southern cross which looks like an anchor at this time of the year then turn east to find the winter maiden the brightest star in the sky. Then go east again to find three stars in a row. After that track 3 other stars in a triangle shape by looking east again. Finally look around for a cluster of stars which is Matariki, you will know that this is Matariki cos you will be able to see seven of the brightest stars there which are the seven sisters.

The meaning of the stars. (The nine sisters.)
Matariki represents the gathering of people, family and the environment.
Pohutukawa is the star connected to those that have passed on.
Waiti is the star connected to fresh water and the food that lives in it.
Waita is the star connected to sea water and the food in it.
Ururangi is the star connected to the wind.
Tupuanuku is the star that represents the food growing in the Earth.
Tupuarangi represents the food growing in the trees and the birds.
Waipuna-a-rangi is connected to precipitation, water in the sky.
Hiwaiterangi is connected to wishing, dreams and hopes.

This is all I've learnt so far and I'll learn more over time and if you have any "NICE" comments I'll love to hear them.

Rockets.some what of a story and some info

On 14.6.19 We had a guy called Daniel from the Wonder Project who came and taught us about rockets and we made bottle rockets out of a 1.5L bottle and cardboard paper as fins. We were put in teams of 3.

Then a few weeks later we started making and launching our rockets to see how far they flew and then we recorded data and made changes to our rockets.

In my group we had what had to be the worst rocket cos the fins we falling off before it was launched. We had put about 350.ML of water in our bottle rocket and 60.Psi, and it would of flew better if it had all of its fins on it.My team could of been better and I could of been a better captain of my team.We also had fun and I liked it and I bet my team members did too.
